About Me
Genesis Jones
I was born a Sickle Cell Warrior, but there is a lot more to me than meets the eye. I approach each new day embracing the experiences life has blessed me with, the resilience that being a warrior has taught me, and the tenacious spirit that I showcase to others.

For me, that looks like being there for warriors in their times of need, bringing my story and experiences to a variety of organizations. While providing a clear understanding of Sickle Cell and the transplant process. Providing a different perspective of being a cancer survivor helps connect many connections that very few warriors can provide. I am known for being an inspiration for others with how I continue to take on every challenge that I face no matter how hard the circumstances may be or feel at that moment. I strive to establish and maintain relationships by being an advocate and speaker for those who tend to not have a voice. This is why I am also a co-founder of my own non-profit called Sickle-Inspired, our mission is to inspire Sickle Cell warriors and anyone who faces adversity.

Outside of my advocacy, I am driven by my educational goals with graduation right around the corner from the University of Texas at Dallas in the Spring of 2023. I have been told that I am a quiet spirit coupled with a kind heart. I am excited about a new chance at life with less pain and ready to show my true authentic self to those from the moment I walk into the room.

Obsessed with Family
I am obsessed with being surrounded around my family and those I love. I think it’s because I have always had my family there for me in times of need. With my sickle cell that really meant a lot to me and at times was important. I know that I can always count on them and we have a good time together.
Advocate
From a young age, I have always had to advocate for myself with having a chronic illness. I have been lucky to have a transplant and have sickle cell trait now. Yet the journey has just begun to continue advocating for myself and others as well.
Lover of my faith
God is my rock and knows that I am highly favored because of the things he has done and continues to do in my life. I love spending time with him and going to church or being surrounded around other believers.
Ginger Ale
My drink of choice has always been Ginger Ale. There is something about the Ginger and the bubbles that have always been satisfying to me. I do drink socially, but I can never pass up a Ginger Ale.
